When family relationships break down or new families are formed, the law can be very confusing and add much stress to an already emotional situation. Our firm has more than 40 years of experience helping people just like you navigate the challenging and ever-changing field of family law. Whether your family is being formed by a marriage, growing by a birth or an adoption, or, unfortunately, dividing by a divorce, we can help you navigate the legal issues that you may face.
Our firm handles all forms of family law litigation, including divorce, custody/visitation cases, support cases, property division, and protective orders, and we even have experience representing same-sex couples going through Virginia’s family law system. We also draft pre-marital agreements (colloquially known as “prenups”) and property settlement agreements. Additionally, we handle all forms of adoption, including contested adoption litigation. Finally, we handle appeals to the Virginia Court of Appeals and Virginia Supreme Court in family law cases, including in cases where we were not trial counsel.
Family law is one of the most emotionally challenging areas of law, and the attorneys in our firm recognize that the needs of our clients in this field go beyond merely money or property. We pride ourselves on our ability to listen to your unique situation, get to the bottom of what it is you really want, and help devise a strategy for how to get there. As a result, we handle each case with care and respect, while also vigorously representing our client based on their desires and needs.
